I know the door before us is closed,
for I stand before it, so sorrowful,
and I can still feel them, like it was yesterday,
your hands, your kiss, your gentle embrace.
I place my hand upon the door, and I cry,
for I can feel your heartbeat inside,
and though I know that I should just walk away,
it is my heart that says that it still wants to stay.
When one door closes, as the saying goes,
another one opens to renew your soul,
and while I can feel its breeze beckoning me,
I cannot turn away from your door to leave.
