Therese Gramercy . . . the girl named Trees

Waves and snow

We rejoiced the day we that met face to face.
We rejoiced in the beauty of our words on the page.
We rejoiced in the countdown of dwindling days,
and our shared dream to love in the strongest way.

You left me a note on Valentine’s Day.
You left me that day without leaving a trace.
You left me perplexed, your goodbye was so vague,
in your silent word love at the end of the page.

I look out of my window at the shore every day,
I look out through my tears as I remember your face,
I look out to sea to find the seventh, the strongest wave,
for that wave holds the love that we let slip away.
